ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS

4-7 682
Abstract

Analysis of parameters of the devices for "wet" gas cleaning with strong interaction between the phases has allowed creating a pattern for selecting vortex devices for cleaning large-volume gas emissions of industrial enterprises with respect to their features.

8-11 585
Abstract

There are designed the unit and technology of optimal utilization of the organic part of solid household waste's sub-grate product together with
tree cut-downs and sewage sediments from treatment facilities. The existing technological schemes for composting of municipal waste are analyzed. With the help of the scheme developed, compostable ingredients can be used flexibly in different ratios (fermented sewage sediment, excess activated silt, raw sediment, tree cut-down, food waste).

12-16 455
Abstract

There are described the results of investigations on neutralization of sulfides being formed in urban sewage during their transportation. The technology and processing unit to adjust the concentration of sulfides are offered. The technology is implemented at existing plants of water drainage systems using reagents produced in Russia.

17-19 372
Abstract

It is described the design of stationary module for cleaning the air from tobacco smoke. Autonomous module includes two columns with cassette
devices equipped with the granular absorber layers of carbon adsorbents located in the grid cassettes, and fans. The module performance reaches 100 m3/h of purified air, power consumption is 0.25 kW.

SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENTS

20-22 758
Abstract

It is developed waste-free technology of recycling spent sulfuric acid from the process of sulfuric-acid alkylation of isoalkanes by olefins to produce mineral fertilizers such as sodium sulfate and ammonium sulfate using an organic component as a stabilizer in a fuel composition, as well as in a composition of technical detergent and as a composition for oil displacemen.

23-25 504
Abstract

There are found the compositions of biologically active substances of wheat, corn, barley and millet distillery bards. Biologically active substances are separated from the liquid and solid phases of bard. There are identified their non-toxicity, gastroprotective and antioxidant activity

26-29 361
Abstract

There are presented a mathematical model of the process of technological gas cooling and the system of cooling process control. The control system stabilizes the temperature of technological gases at a given level. Application of the models developed enables to increase the degree of technological gases purification.

30-32 607
Abstract

By the methods of X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction analyses, there are revealed the nature and mechanism of yellow patches formation on the surface of ceramic products caused by sodium and potassium vanadates. It is offered the method for eliminating the causes of forming yellow coating on the surface of ceramic bricks by introduction of HPP ash and technical lignosulfonate into the molding compositions. Application of these additives also leads to better quality of products and partially solves the problem of industrial waste recycling.

33-37 794
Abstract

There are studied the features of heavy metals accumulation by plants and meadow phytocenosis. Phytomeliorative properties of plants with various levels of soil contamination are assessed. It is revealed a group of plants with an enhanced ability to accumulate heavy metals in ground phytomass (creeping thistle, shepherd's purse, common wormwood, Asiatic dock). These plants can be recommended for purification of contaminated soils at the latter stages of remediation, when the content of heavy metals in soil is already not so great.

ECOLOGICAL EDUCATION

38-41 394
Abstract

There are considered the basic issues of training of engineering personnel in the two-level education system in the direction of "Technospheric Safety". Educational standard in the direction of "Technospheric Safety" is shown to provide an opportunity to train professional personnel in the field of engineering protection of the environment. There are considered the basic profiles relating to environmental protection issues.

ANALYSIS. METHODS. PROGNOSIS

42-45 453
Abstract

It is presented the method, which enables to carry out rapid assessment of expected impact of the intended hydro-construction on the environment even at pre-project stage, when comparing options of location for future hydraulic engineering structures. Application of this method is demonstrated by the project of engineering preparation of land by means of drifting and stabilization of the territory in the vicinity of Sestroretsk City and Lisy Nos Peninsula (Gulf of Finland, St. Petersburg).

46-49 432
Abstract

There are presented the data on investigation of old industrial waste ranges. The impact of ranges on groundwater status has evaluated; the stages of industrial waste landfills and old ranges cleanup are described.

50-53 393
Abstract

There are considered the problems of land reclamation on large coal mine cuts of Kansk-Achinsk coal basin. The results of studies of productivity of reclaimed soil layer deposited on the waste dumps of coal mine cuts are presented. According to the results for "Borodino" coal mine reclamation, it is proposed to create cultural landscapes on the basis of soil-forming technogenic mixture of fertile soil layer and loam by thickness upvto 2 m.

54-56 423
Abstract

It is offered the method for obtaining high-value protein from secondary raw-fish material, which, on the one hand, enables to reduce anthropogenic impact on the environment and, on the other hand, to compensate partly the lack of protein.

57-59 558
Abstract

There are offered the equations for calculating the boundary grain of separation. These equations are obtained with respect to the data on the velocity field in the hydro-cyclone and the degree of stream turbulence and taking into account the dependencies on the structural parameters of hydro-cyclones, properties of separated suspension, pressure or velocity of suspension in the feeding pipe.
