Abstract

Architecture, hardware, software and information support and digital modes of operation were developed for monitoring emissions from industrial waste landfills using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It was shown that systems for monitoring gas emissions from landfills using UAVs allow real-time remote continuous operational monitoring due to installed temperature and gas sensors, as well as methane emissions of the large areas of landfills and providing operators with gas distribution maps and and data on location of potential leaks.

Abstract

Aspects of practical application of pilot studies of the aquatic environment in the Northern Territories on the example of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) were considered as a result of which the electrocoagulation method was substantiated and selected for the water cleaning at the surface source of the river Ochchu-Botubuya (Malaya Botuobiya) near the village of Tas-Yurykh. Optimum parameters of the clearing of water rate and precipitation after electrochemical treatment were identified. Revealed dependencies: water sample clarification on current density and processing time; time to clear the sample by power consumption; kinetics of coarse cotton fraction deposition over time. For the practical results' application of the pilot studies, a storage and a stationary coagulation plants were developed and tested.

Abstract

The possibility of electrocoagulating purification of spent washing liquids (SWL) from emulsified lubricating oils was verified. Using this technology, railway car-repair depots would be able to organize the recycling systems for repeated use of refined SWL and for isolated lubricants utilization. The purification of real SWL was simulated with faint direct current (DC) exposure on the lubricant emulsions (SWL imitations).

Abstract

This paper considers promising sorption materials based on chitosan and graphene oxide. It is shown that this direction is rapidly developing and various materials based on graphene oxide are being created. In the experimental part, the technology of obtaining a nanocomposite from graphene oxide – chitosan using heat treatment is presented. Microstructural analysis of chitosan and fluffed graphene oxide was carried out. The obtained sorption material of the sorbent was tested for its ability to extract copper cations.

Abstract

It was defined that the paper and pulp enterprises generate a huge amount of waste and by-products, including tall oil pitch, the processing factor of which does not exceed 60 %. The relevance of expanding its use as a secondary production resource, the expediency of locating chemical production using tall oil pitch directly at the place of its fabrication was highlighted. It was substantiated that processing technologies can be based on theoretical and pilot studies, as well as on technological developments of chemicals using tall oil pitch to solve technical and environmental issues of the oil and gas industry, in particular, drilling wells. Approbation examples illustrated these developments with a positive industrial result, including production developments.

Abstract

Systematic field studies results of the impact of modified hydrolysis lignin additives on mud and polymer mud drilling fluids functionality were presented. Samples of the original and modified hydrolytic lignin were determined by chemical and elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and BET. It was concluded that the additives of the original and modified hydrolytic lignin can reduce filtrationloss quality, reduce the friction coefficient, inhibit the swelling behavior, and increase the stability of mud drilling fluids.

Abstract

The results of a study of the specifics of recultivation at mining enterprises of the Republic of Tuva are presented The analysis of the availability bioclimatic and lithological resources necessary for the effective implementation of various directions of reclamation are given. It was revealed that, despite the diversity of natural conditions and landscapes, the region has a clearly expressed deficit of potentially fertile rocks and a fertile soil layer. It is shown that the soil-ecological efficiency of self-restoration, assessed by the nature of the newly formed soil cover and the accumulation of pedogenic organic matter, is low, and the state of self-restoration landscapes is unsatisfactory.

Abstract

The results of a comprehensive radioecological survey of the territory of Novocherkassk, Rostov region, are presented. Special attention is paid to the locations of large industrial enterprises in the research area. An assessment of the power status of the equivalent dose of gamma radiation in this area was performed, according to which the gamma background is evenly distributed and averages 0.12–0.13 mSv/h.

Abstract

Studies were performed to determine a toxicity of wastewater before being fed to disposal facility, after biological and various methods of water treatment. The marine microalgae Heterosigma akashiwo isolated in Peter the Great Bay (Sea of Japan, Vladivostok) was used as a test object. Comparative analysis outcomes presentation regarding wastewater samples before being supplied to disposal facilities, wastewater samples after secondary sedimentation tanks, a self-cleaning sand filter, a semi-industrial installation – a slow cassette filter, and polished effluents by chemicals.

Abstract

Comparative assessments performed on heavy metal pollution of snowpack in 30-km impact zones of Novolipetsk iron and steel foundries PJSC and NLMK-Kaluga electrometallurgical plant. The polyelement composition of the solid and liquid fractions was determined, and geochemical and sanitary-hygienic of snowpack pollution indicators were given.

Abstract

The possibility of scientific substantiation of moral and ethical principles in emergency situations (emergencies) is considered. The search for decision-making criteria in conditions of uncertainty and lack of information and knowledge is carried out. The process of expert assessment of emergencies is analyzed, the democratic decision-making process by majority vote, which does not take into account "special opinions", is questioned. The importance of evaluation is emphasized: the prices of an incorrectly made decision. The conclusion is made in favor of a decision with full consensus, which allows avoiding unnecessary casualties and large damages in an emergency.
