<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The mechanisms of reactions between the hydration products of Portland cement and the components of acidic fly ash were studied. The role of crystallographic defects in alite grains on their hydration activity was noted. It was concluded that solid waste from coal combustion (fly ash) can be used as a partial replacement for Portland cement in concrete production, which would lead to reduced CO2 emissions and a decrease in fly ash accumulation in landfills.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>зола уноса</kwd><kwd>бетон</kwd><kwd>портландцемент</kwd><kwd>механизмы реакции</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>fly ash</kwd><kwd>concrete</kwd><kwd>portland cement</kwd><kwd>reaction mechanisms</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Gollakota Anjani R.K., Volli V., Shu C.-M.
